Thiruvananthapuram District Housing Co-Operative Society
The Thiruvananthapuram District Housing Co-Operative Society was started working in August 2005 in Thiruvananthapuram District. The bank is going on with great progress. The bank is providing maximum facilities to the customers. The bank currently offers various deposit schemes and provides different loans.
Objectives of society
- To carry on for the benefit of its members the purchase of land, the construction of buildings and trade of land and buildings and of buying, selling, hiring, letting and development of land and buildings in accordance with cooperative principles.
- To give loans to members for the purchase of houses, construction of houses, and repair and remodeling of houses.
- To acquire land, layout into plots, and allot them to members on hire purchase system.
- To acquire land, construct houses and allot them to members on hire purchase system.
- To own land, construct houses and let out to the members on monthly lease contracts.
- To give subsidized loans to the members who are below the poverty line for the construction of houses according to the approved pattern.
- To allot houses to members who are below the poverty line on hire purchase system at a subsidized cost.
- To lay down roads, parks, playgrounds, and house sites.
- To carry on agro developmental projects and sell properties.
- To procure and distribute inputs needed for the construction of buildings and to trade in buildings and to trade in building construction materials.
- To disseminate knowledge on the latest developments in the field of house construction.
- To promote the economic interest of the members in construction, purchase, repair, remodeling or leasing of houses.
- To borrow and receive grants from the government. The district co-operative bank, The state cooperative housing federation, The Trivandrum social service society, and financial institutions like NHB, HUDCO, HDFC , LIC etc.
- To conduct M.D.S for the financial uplift of the members.
- To open branches of the society at suitable centers within the district with the permission of the registrar.
- To do all such other things as are incidental or conducive to promote the objectives of the society.
- In general, to encourage self-help, thrift, and cooperation among the members to achieve equity, social justice and economic development which form the core of the objectives of the society.
